Nicola Badbury, BEd (Hons), MH, MIIR, is a medical herbalist, counsellor and has trained and qualified in bio-acoustic sound therapy, reflexology and touch for health kinesiology. She is a member of the British Herbal Medicines Association and the Unified Register of Herbal Practitioners and abides by the code and conduct of the British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy.
After over 20 years in clinical practice in Cheshire as a medical herbalist and counsellor, the opportunity to restore Ord House on the Isle of Skye presented the chance to create a place of rest and sanctuary surrounded by the elements and beauty of nature.
The holistic integrated cancer support therapy developed and practiced by Nicola Bradbury grew from the idea of providing a patient-centred health-care programme in a peaceful, safe setting, conducive to healing and the relief of stress that so over shadows our present way of life.
It is hoped that guests coming to Ord and Ord House will benefit from the healing qualities of the place as it has long been associated as a place of healing, even before the Christian era. St. Congam, it is said came to Sleat specifically to bless and consecrate the Well and Stone of Healing in Ord.
Guests staying at Ord House can book consultation appointments during their stay either for holistic integrated cancer support therapy or for private time to discuss life and health issues. Available therapies include medical herbalism, counselling, cancer support therapy, kinesiology, allergy testing, reflexology and flower essence profiles. Ord house will also offer throughout the year a programme of workshops and seminars by renowned writers and teachers in areas of self development and healing.
